This morning the temperature was -11F, with a slight tailwind, and an advertised -23F windchill. With the right outfit- no big deal!
Head to toe:
- 45 North wool hat with earflaps and a stiff brim, merino wool face scarf cut from a felted sweater
- Thin Ibex 1/4 zip jersey, poly turtleneck, Endura jacket with all the zips open
- Chopper mittens
- Terry thermal tights, Novara rain pants, REI gaiters, repurposed wool sweater/ skirt
- Rag wool socks, Red Wing work boots
I run hot, and my commute is just under ten miles. I arrived sweaty, but not too bad, and definitely not cold at all. I’ll make some adjustments by only wearing one thin baselayer under my jacket while wearing my backpack, but other than that I wouldn’t change a thing!
My coworker took this photo for me. Their acceptance of my nerdiness is gracious and wonderful.
